Keys!

We've been deep into painting, rainbows and all things glitter since returning from Winter Break.  But today, during free play, one kiddo wanted to wear Ms. Roses keys.  He started to use them to try and "unlock" our manga-tiles and then used them like a spatula to move various toys around the classroom. Some of our other friends began to show an interest in what he was doing.  Ms. Rose remembered there was a big bin of keys in the Art Atelier and that was that, today was going to be all about keys!  The children took turns looking around the room for doors to "unlock" and problem solving how to get the miscellaneous keys to fit.  We practiced safety rules by watching out for fingers are we opened and shut the doors.  Some children decided to add the keys to the kinetic sand we had out at one table.  It looks like keys will be a great addition to our loose parts play!

Patient turn taking!

We have so many doors in our classroom!

Great loose part play!
