Today we completed the last step in creating our menorahs: the shamash candle. We used peg people to represent our shamash candle. To give the candles a fire-like glow, the kiddos dipped the head of the peg person into glue and then into a colorful mixture of glitter. The are really into glitter right now and lined up (unprompted) to take their turn dipping their shamash candles! The shamash candle on a menorah is taller than the rest of the candles on the menorah, but due to an Amazon hickup, we are pretending our shamash has been lit many times already. I hope your children enjoy playing with and arranging their menorahs. We sure had a blast creating them!
