Foil Painting

Today we used aluminum foil as the canvas for painting.  We were interested in the sounds that it made while we ran the brushes across the surface.  Some of the children tried to crinkle the foil with their brushes, while others tried to smooth it out.  Once we had added our sparkly paint, we sprinkled glitter on top to see if it would stick.  The children practiced turn taking by asking their friends for specific colors of glitter.  Painting is a wonderful way to practice proper pencil grip and other prewriting skills.
