Glitter and Challah

On Thursday, we got the kinetic sand back out.  The Olive friends enjoyed using playdough tools and loose parts to make whatever they could imagine.  While playing with the sand, one friend brought me a glue bottle and said she wanted to play with glitter. And we did! We pour and painted the glue and sprinkled and dumped the glitter on to the glue.  We practiced naming our colors by selecting what color glitter we wanted.  Messy play like this allows the children to learn what they are capable of through sensory exploration.  It is also a great opportunity to practice our classroom boundaries and impulse control.  You can make as much of a mess as you want, right here at this table!

Today we baked challah! The sprinkles were once again a big hit.  We stretched out the dough into long strands and asked Ms. Rose for help to braid it.  Once we put the challah in the oven, a friend asked to bring out the kinetic sand again, this time to make challah with it!

L: "Add fruit to my challah!"

Shabbat Shalom!
