Taste Safe "Mud" and Apple Washing

We dug deeper into our Rosh Hashanah exploration today.  For messy play time on the bike track, we made taste safe mud out of flour, cinnimon and water.  The children enjoyed mixing the mud together and getting our apples all covered in mud.  In another container, we had water so we could "wash" the apple off.

M: "I have mud!"

L: "I mix it up!"

In our classroom, we made round challah! Everyone's favorite part were the mini chocolate chips we added!

W: (adding chocolate chips) "I'm making a zebra!"

In small groups, we decorated honey combs to add to a collaborative art piece that the Oak friends invited the other classrooms to participate in.  Using a photo of a honey bee for reference, we chose to decorate our honeycombs with yellow water colors and black dabbers.
