Saffar the Ram

Today we had a special visit from a ram named Saffar! We visited with him outside and observed him eating hay.  Some friends felt comfortable petting his soft wool.  All of our friends (and even our teachers) thought his baaa was very funny sounding.  We talked about how the shofar is made out of a ram's horn.

In small groups, we worked on color sorting.  Using the apple theme, we sorted loose parts into red and green.  Being able to sort things by common attribute is a great pre-math skill!

Over the next few days, we will be working on sensory "honey pot" jars.  These jars will come home on Friday as part of our Rosh Hashanah gift.  We added corn syrup, yellow water coloring, glitter and wooden bees to our honey pots.  And just like real honey, it was sticky fun!
